EPAM Systems sponsors two international scientific conferences;
Promotion of scientific progress and technological innovation as a strategic
imperative for EPAM Systems

sponsors two international scientific conferences taking place this month in
Minsk, Belarus, the city that hosts one of the company's development centers.
On May 18-20, 2005 the 8th International Conference "Pattern Recognition
and Information Processing" (PRIP - 2005) was held in the Belarusian State
University of Informatics and Radioelectronics. The event takes place in
Belarus every second year under the aegis of the International Association for
Pattern Recognition (IAPR).
Close to 100 specialists from 20 countries, including Canada, the USA, Japan,
France, the UK, China, the Netherlands, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, attended the
conference this year. The participants discussed the latest accomplishments in
development of computer technologies and systems for pattern recognition and
for processing signals and images as applied to various fields of national
economy, such as medicine, space monitoring, electronics and agriculture.
Nanomeeting-2005 is a
traditional international conference held every two years since 1995 in Minsk,
Belarus. The conference is a joint Belarusian-French initiative aimed at
bringing together scientists and engineers from around the world, who work in
the fast evolving areas of nanostructure-based electronics, optoelectronics and
optics. The meeting will address the latest innovations achieved in research,
development and application of nanoscale structures. It will take place on May
24-27, 2005 at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and
Radioelectronics in Minsk and will unite scientists and technologists from
France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Greece, Italy, the Ukraine, Poland,
Belarus and other countries.
