Power Machines Group to Use SAP's Advanced Solution For Complex Distributed Project Management

Press Release:

EPAM Systems took part in the development of an innovative SAP NetWeaver based project portal, and an SAP cProjects based distributed planning and document management system for Power Machines Group

Moscow, St. Petersburg — November 30, 2004 — EPAM Systems, SAP's partner in the CIS and USA, in close collaboration with SAP's teams from CIS, Baltic States, and Czech Republic have implemented a system for collaborative work and distributed project management based on SAP Enterprise Portal and SAP cProjects Suite at OJSC Power Machines.

The solution is designed to support complex projects, such as electric power station construction and furnishing, including installations in Russia as well as abroad.

The implemented system is based on the advanced enterprise application platform SAP NetWeaver™ and leverages one of the newest SAP components - SAP cProjects Suite - the system for collaborative planning and document management (SAP cProjects and cFolders). The solution complies with SAP's concepts and architecture requirements for product lifecycle management systems (mySAP PLM - Product Lifecycle Management) and management systems for general contract works on industrial objects (included into SAP for EC&O - Engineering, Construction and Operations).

Mr. Sergey Malakhov, Head of Information Systems Center for OJSC Power Machines, noted that "being SAP's partner since 1997, EPAM has most experience in SAP solutions in Eastern Europe, which has served as the decisive argument. EPAM's specialists not only met all the requirements, but also contributed constructive and creative elements to non-standard solutions".

Vladislav Shershulsky, Business Development Director, EPAM Systems in Moscow, stressed, that "...the consolidated team of Power Machines Group, SAP, and EPAM Systems demonstrated an excellent performance and real understanding of the problems to be solved in delivering the solution. We are especially pleased to see that EPAM's experience in such leading edge technologies as SAP NetWeaver platform, SAP Enterprise Portal, and SAP cProjects accumulated by our engineers during previous assignments from SAP and other major clients across the world, has proved to be in demand now in Russia as well".
