EPAM, a longstanding partner of the Scratch Foundation, will support the 2018 Scratch Conference at MIT, which will bring together hundreds of educators and technologists to share ideas on expanding tech education among children around the world. Developed by MIT, Scratch is a foundation tool and coding platform used primarily by children to learn the basics of programming. EPAM leverages Scratch through its EPAM eKids program, which encourages primary-aged school children to learn software engineering through hands-on challenges and mentoring opportunities with EPAM employees. To date, the program has reached over 1,500 eKids across 15 countries and 750 EPAMers have donated over 32,000 volunteer hours to teach children how to code.
