DESCRIPTION


We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst/Technical Product Owner who is willing to work in a life sciences domain. The position assumes client visibility with the vast majority of stakeholders being scientists or laboratory technicians. Prior life sciences experience is highly desired but the lack of thereof might be compensated by natural scientific curiosity and desire to work on the futuristic scientific projects with an ultimate goal of improving human longevity.

You will be working close to the business partners and actively participating in enterprise-grade product requirements definition. In a Sr. Business Analyst position, you will clarify and analyze business requirements and translate them to easy-to-digest user stories. You should be capable of working alone and documenting the findings in an efficient way.
We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive individual, who is comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment with an ability to drive a product delivery from early design concept to rollout.

Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements analysis and provide documentation including project specification, system configuration description, end user documents, training and test scripts
  • Facilitate discussions with business to understand requirements, drive key decisions, and resolution to issues
  • Identification of options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability
  • Document requirements, write extensive functional design documents, work with developers for the build, write test cases/scripts, facilitate testing cycles with business, perform support and knowledge transfer
  • Working closely with developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Work closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Work closely with other project team members for any cross functional issues/tasks
  • Participate in full system implementation life-cycles (analyze, design, build, test, implement, support)

Requirements

  • Academic degree in Biological Sciences/Life Sciences or 5+ years of work experience as a Business Analyst in the IT or Life Sciences industries
  • Ability to work individually or in a team environment, preferably having experience working in Agile teams as a Business Analyst, Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Understanding of application programming, quality assurance, database and system design
  • Very good understanding of requirements management
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable engaging with senior technical stakeholders (architects, tech leads), user experience and visual design teams, and subject matter experts
  • Ability to manage client expectations effectively
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Ability to understand and manage customer expectations and software implementation methodology
  • Confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging software industry practice (SDLC)
  • Ability to perform impact analysis, identify changes to business processes, perform testing, and effectively communicate with business
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Life Sciences experience will be a plus
  • BS, MS or PhD degree in either STEM or Life Sciences will be a plus
  • Experienced performing product manager or product owner job functions will be consider as a significant advantage will be a plus
  • Prior participation is iOS application development in any role will be a plus
  • Very strong English written and verbal skills
