ABOUT PROJECT


Solution Architect is a primary member of the project leading team at EPAM and is responsible for the overall architecture of the system and alignment of business requirements to the technical design. The ideal candidate should be an experienced technologist with a proven record of accomplishment in architectures of enterprise systems preferably on several different stacks. As Solution Architect in Google Cloud you should be focused on Cloud Native Foundation (and Google Cloud particularly) technology stack and have solid understanding and hands-on experience with CI/CD, IaC and SRE principles.

As part of your job you will directly participate in communications with potential customers and pre-sales activities, conduct discovery sessions and workshops (remote or at the customer’s site with up to 30% of time), create solution architecture documents with deep technical details and oversee development of proposed PoC/solution towards deployment and transition to customer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide PoT/end-to-end reference architecture development using emerging tools and technologies
  • Provide pre-sales support (Scoping, Estimations)
  • Perform PoC/PoT delivery/startup teams’ leadership
  • Be responsible for architecture/design docs supervision and review
  • Provide staffing support (TI enablement / profile matching)
  • Be responsible for market promoting (communities, conferences, workshops, articles)

Requirements

  • Hands-on development of solutions of different nature (highly available and scalable web applications/services, mobile applications, relational and non-relational data storages) using at least one programming - Java/Scala, Kotlin, Python, Go, JavaScript/Node.js
  • Practice in scope estimations, project management, direct customer communications (gathering requirements, solution architecture design presentation, workshops). Participation in pre-sales and RFP processes is a big plus
  • In-depth knowledge with at least one Cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with container management and orchestration technologies (such as Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker Swarm)
  • Solid understanding of IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and hands-on experience with provisioning/configuration tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Bamboo, or others
  • Familiarity with IT security best practices such as encryption, certificates, key management, security mechanisms (SSO, LDAP, OAuth, SAML) and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI)
  • Understanding of SRE principles, monitoring/alerting, logging and troubleshooting
  • Ability to effectively communicate via video conferencing for meetings, technical reviews and onsite delivery activities
