Currently, we are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer for our Minsk office to make our team stronger.

EPAM invites talented and ambitious engineers to become part of our Data Solution Practice.

We are looking for people who strive for self-development, who are interested in data science and are eager to work with Big Data tools and frameworks, cloud platforms and cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Working with data scientists to productionalize predictive models:
    • Understanding the scope and purpose of the models built by data scientists
    • Creating scalable data preparation pipelines
    • Implementing models on the target platform
    • Designing and running experiments at scale
    • Providing monitoring and feedback facilities

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Java or Scala
  • Experience with Big Data (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.)
  • Extensive experience building scalable, high-performance distributed systems, systems that deal with large data volumes, n-tier, client/server, cluster and load balanced architectures, web applications
  • Linux experience
  • Experience working in the agile continuous integration/DevOps paradigm and toolset (JIRA, Git, TDD, Test Automation, Docker, Jenkins)
  • Working ML proficiency, including understanding of:
    • The learning problem, bias-variance tradeoff, training / test / validation sets and cross-validation, overfitting and the ways to deal with it
    • Regression and classification problems, related metrics, their calculation and applicability
    • Data leakage and its prevention (in particular, with temporal data)
    • Feature selection and engineering
  • Knowledge of Python (including pandas and scikit-learn)
  • PySpark and SparkSQL
  • Familiarity with TensorFlow / Keras
  • Written and spoken technical English level B or higher

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Knowledge of R
  • KNIME/RapidMiner/other visual ML tools
  • PyTorch/MXNet/CNTK
