We are looking for a JAVA Developer to come on board and support our operation in Zürich.

Responsibilities

  • Drive renewal of the current solution be it software or even hardware where required
  • The aim is to migrate from locally installed oracle databases to "db as a service", from Sun Solaris to Linux and to migrate to new infrastructure at the same time
  • The current solution is globally deployed on approximately 100 servers including development, test and production systems
  • Combine a continuous reengineering and improvement process where possible
  • Administration of internal processes and tools to ensure quality and security
  • Oversee infrastructure provisioning and the global solution inventory

Requirements

  • Experience as engineer and developer in a globally distributed team
  • Financial services IT background, preferably in Financial Crimes/AML a plus
  • Java development, ORACLE database and data analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in liaising with other IT teams
  • Methodology know how on how to ensure that project deliverables meet industry best practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills
  • Understanding of a broad range of platforms, technologies and tools, specifically Java, UNIX/Linux, Oracle, GitHub, TeamCity, Jira, Confluence
  • A flexible, resilient team player with strong interpersonal skills taking initiative to drive things forward
  • Able to multitask and work on different projects in parallel, accurate and focused on deliverables
