DESCRIPTION


The Business Analyst position in EPAM gives an opportunity to interact with skilled engineers worldwide, get acquainted with various industries & domains, and work with modern technologies used in our projects.

As a part of the BA community in Katowice you can:

• Work within a wide variety of project domains (FinTech, Medical, Logistics, e-Commerce and more);
• Participate in the technology and domain conferences, forums, and domain trainings;
• Take part in personalized mentoring programs, TechTalks and competency centers;
• Participate in EPAM Garage – a space for innovative projects initiated by employees;
• Receive reimbursement for BA certification.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements gathering/elicitation
  • Definition of Business Goals, Needs and Objectives
  • Current state analysis (As-Is), and To-Be impact analysis
  • Data analysis to ensure features are aligned with product Goals / Needs / Objectives and delivering the most Potential Solution Value
  • Translation of business needs into requirements (Functional, Non-functional, Transition)
  • Functional Decomposition
  • Writing Epics / Use Cases / User Stories based on selected BA documents structure (including Acceptance Criteria)
  • Collaboration with stakeholders, SMEs, Development and QA teams
  • Planning of Business Analysis Approach on the project, including Business Analysis Information Management (templates, documents structure, process flow, etc.)
  • Onsite visits to customer location – building and maintaining relationship
  • Product Backlog management including prioritization, release planning etc
  • Playing Scrum Master or Product Owner role if needed

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant BA experience
  • Fluent English – both spoken and written
  • Open for customer visits per project needs
  • Ability to plan Business Analysis Approach on the project and facilitates related communication
  • Experience in Product Owner role including roadmap and product backlog definition and execution, strong ownership over managed product
  • Ability to effectively guide requirements elicitation activities
  • Experience in creating different types of requirements
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies in project requirements
  • Experience in working with Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) or classic one (e.g. Waterfall)
  • Ability to arrange and facilitate meetings and workshops with the customer
  • Ability to acquire new information about the project and domain quickly from different sources
  • Ability to effectively manage the scope of requirements within the project (communicate potential scope creep to stakeholders and manage such risk)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members in complex environments (multi-cultural/multi-country/geographically distributed team) and customer representatives
  • Self-managing skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and synthesizing skills
  • Ability to support solution testing/UAT
  • Experience in creating diagrams (UML, BPMN)
  • Knowledge of modern software architecture, understanding concepts and being able to discuss high level design (cloud related concepts and capabilities, microservices etc.)
  • Experience in data analysis and modeling, including proficient knowledge of SQL – being able to access and query DB, experience with data processing/analysis using Excel
  • Knowledge about UX/UI and ability to reflect requirements in form of UI mockup
  • Ability to work with web services (SOAP, REST) using tools like Postman and define requirements for API based applications
  • Domain knowledge in one of the following areas: Insurance, Banking/Wealth Management, Transaction monitoring and fraud prevention

Nice to have

  • Engineering or computer science education background
  • Knowledge about GraphQL
  • Certification in areas of Business Analysis, Scrum Master or Product Owner
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Visio
