Currently we are looking for a Principal Expert for 5G & Radio Access Network / OpenRAN (m/f/d) to make our German team even stronger.


  • Build up Radio Access Network and 5G expertise within EPAM
  • Represent EPAM in industry organizations such as the OpenRAN Alliance
  • Identify new growth opportunities based on market knowledge, personal network and technology trends in top-tier and mid-tier Telco customer segment
  • Identify new services in different industries in combination of 5G/OpenRAN with specific domain needs (e.g. automation in product process planning and steering)
  • Participate in and drive RFP process with customer prospects together with colleagues from business development, account management and solution architecture
  • Drive and coordinate solution design as well as demos and proof of concepts
  • Coordinate effort estimation and contract negotiations process for new deal proposals


  • Hard skills / knowledge:
    • Master in Engineering, Computer Science or Business Informatics
    • Deep practical knowledge about 5G technology, service opportunities and rollout challenges
    • Expert knowledge in SDN, NFV and API driven infrastructure as well as MIMO, C-RAN and Wifi technologies. Possible experience with IoT technologies
    • 12+ years of experience in technical projects in Telecommunication industry and Mobile Network Infrastructure
    • 8+ years experience in engaging with prospect clients for new deal preparation and closure on senior management level. Experience in participation and leading of competitive RFP/RFQ scenarios – evaluating, presenting solution options and deal closure
    • Industry experience in Telecommunication, Mobile Network Equipment providers and/or 5G Service offerings
    • Wide network of contacts in top tier and mid-tier enterprises and institutions
    • Strong communication skills including experience in presentation for and management of senior stakeholders
    • Hands-on technical experience in programming or systems engineering that enables you to participate, lead and contribute value in technical and architectural discussions
    • German native speaking capabilities required. Fluent English is a must as second language
