- Digitally connect Catholics in the United States
- Have the app ready and launched in time for the Papal visit
Building & Launching the First-of-its-Kind USA Catholic Church App
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of cardinals, bishops, and dioceses who jointly coordinate, encourage, promote, and carry on Catholic activities in the United States. With the rare and historic Papal visit to Washington, Philadelphia and New York City slotted for September 2015, USCCB asked EPAM to design and build a sophisticated digital communications platform for its national congregation.
EPAM created the official USA Catholic Church App to engage parishioners and other key audiences at various locational levels. Overall, the app provides 16,000 U.S.-based Catholic parishes and 250 dioceses with a means of staying up-to-date on content from The Catholic News Service, events, Mass Readings and more.
The launch of the USA Catholic Church app coincided with Pope Francis’ visit to the United States in September 2015, and the result was a truly digitally enriched papal visit for Catholics all over the country. Garnering rave reviews from users, the app provided content summaries, video, and audio of every facet of the historic papal visit.
Today, the app continues to help devotees pursue “Catholic living” in their day-to-day lives, and, at the time of this writing, it sports a 4.5-star rating with 209 votes on the Google Play store. If you’d like to try it for yourself, the USA Catholic Church app is available for download for Apple and Android.
