The Final Mile to an Agentic Enterprise: How Early Adopters Strengthen Their Business with AI Agents
Many companies have by now considered or experimented with Agentic AI. With the advent of AI agents, a new chapter has begun in the GenAI era. In companies that do this well, agents and humans work closely together to create reliable impact for the business. But just as with any technology, the challenge does not lie in setting up pilots. The real question is how organizations translate experiments into solutions that deliver real enterprise value — the last mile to an Agentic Enterprise.
An important consideration is that this final mile is not about preparing AI for the workplace. Rather, organizations must prepare the workplace itself for AI, so that agents and human employees can work together effectively. The KPIs remain the same: improving the customer experience, generating revenue and increasing efficiency. The intention is not for AI agents to replace employees. The technology will, however, fundamentally transform jobs and ensure those KPIs are achieved in a different, more effective way.
Among the examples profiled, EPAM is recognized for its work with Electrolux Professional Group, a global leader in professional solutions for the food, detergent and beverage industries. EPAM supported development of the company's B2B e-commerce platform serving dealers, partners, agents and technicians. With AI agents integrated into that platform, partners now have access to real-time answers on orders and product availability. Through integration with the ERP system, approximately 20% of service cases are resolved autonomously via self-service, freeing employees to focus on more complex work that requires their expertise.
