DESCRIPTION


Currently we are looking for a DevOps Engineer for our Krakow office to make the team even stronger.

As a Software Infrastructure Engineer you will be a key member of the development team and will focus on bringing media products vision to life. You will be involved in full development lifecycle of the microservices platforms from architecture, design and reliability engineering to deployment, monitoring and integration. We are looking for comprehensive experience in building and production support on engineering level of various high availability distributed systems.

Our team is a part of technology & innovation department. We are working on the server-side components for different media & entertainment products. Range of potential involvements differs from real-time communication to big data processing and analysis. We value professional growth and development, proactivity and critical mindset. Responsibilities

  • Design, setup & maintenance of the core infrastructure that runs our online business
  • Actively participate in planning and management of platform development process
  • Lead continuous delivery and integration pipeline infrastructure development
  • Support the whole platform, use technical analysis to improve the reliability and scalability of the whole system
  • Work closely with the developers to create solutions to deploy and monitor their applications
  • Regularly check the monitor alarms, diagnose the symptoms, analyze the root causes and make preventive plans
  • Write clean, well-structured and maintainable code when needed
  • Explore new latest relevant technology, techniques, frameworks, tools, methodologies and processes

Requirements

  • University degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Computer Science, Science, Mathematics or equivalent or be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge
  • At least fluent spoken and written English – ideally other European languages
  • Strong experience in working with Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu or similar)
  • Production experience and understanding of cluster management systems like Kubernetes, Amazon
  • ECS, Mesos
  • Experience with web and HTTP proxy servers, i.e., Tomcat, NGINX, Squid etc
  • Able to take responsibility; feel accountable for own and team actions
  • Strong team player
  • Confident and a credible influencer, able to command respect
  • Self-disciplined, enforce discipline within his/her teams in terms of processes and work ethics
  • Able to work under pressure and be prepared to work outside normal working hours when necessary
  • Able to bring clarity to ambiguous situations and to act decisively
  • Systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Elastic solutions (Elastic, Kibana, Logstash) and monitor data collection tools is a big plus
  • Proven experience with configuration management tools, i.e., Ansible, Puppet, etc
  • Experience with Prometheus Monitoring System
  • Experience with data storage solutions such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Riak and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus
  • General knowledge of software engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews
  • Source control management, Agile development, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Practical knowledge in virtualization and Linux containers, i.e., KVM, Docker, etc
  • Hands-on scripting and coding experience in working with Python, Ruby, Shell Scripting, etc
