Lead Big Data Engineer Sofia, Bulgaria or Remote

What You Have

• Fascination to Big Data
• Experience and excellent knowledge in either of Java/Scala/Python, HDFS
• Experience in any BigData related to ETL/ELT
• Experience in SQL and noSQL DBs
• Experience in CI/CD (Docker, Jenkins, Git)
• Experience in various machine learning (ML) tools
• Ready to take responsibility for the team outcome and the result of delivery
• Willingness to mentor less-experienced colleagues
• Desire to communicate with the customer intensely
• Intention to acquire new skills continuously
• Strong problem-solving characteristics as opposed to the narrow specialist
• Interest in long-term collaboration (1+ years)
• Solid understanding of the core AWS building blocks - workloads, stacks, instances, containers, VPCs and networking, internetworking and routing, core services like DNS etc, basic security
• Clear, concise communication skills and good command of written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Work on a truly BIG Data project – petabyte-scale projects, hundreds of millions of documents processed
• Dive deep into AWS Big Data world - pave the way & position yourself as an expert in the exploding domain
• Participate in the design – take part in an exploration effort, try a multitude of the AWS Big Data services, propose & defend architectural choices
• Communicate with the customer - work directly with the Customer team, led with the experienced yet open-minded management
• Join ONE team of friendly and fun professionals: no other team knows how to have a good time as we do. We all respect each other as equals and not only get along on a work level but personal as well
