Senior Data Consultant Description

We are looking for the first skilled data consultant to establish our data analytics team in Japan and collaborate with our Japan business development and account management team to expand our data analytics projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Growth:
  • Work closely with the Account Manager and Business Development team for sales/pre-sales activities by assessing data opportunities, responding to RFPs, creating proposals and presentations, establishing relationships with clients and prospective clients, and helping to close new deals
  • Research and identify the needs across strategic accounts and initiatives to inform offering roadmap, and create reusable and scalable assets, solutions and accelerators
  • Help clients get more out of their existing Data and Analytics projects, identifying the solutions and services based on client needs, constraints and strategies
  • Practice Building:
  • Hire and grow the Japan data analytics team as the client engagements progress
  • Research and identify the needs across strategic accounts and initiatives to inform offering roadmap, create reusable and scalable assets, solutions and accelerators
  • Work on EPAM's data analytics offerings and share best practices and technical know-how across global organizations in your field of expertise
  • Data Solution Delivery:
  • Engage with customer business stakeholders to discover Data and analytics opportunities and pain points
  • Act as Data Technology Consultant, working with the delivery team in various-sized complex program
  • Work with EPAM's clients and EPAM teams to shape up data solutions' technology vision
  • Work with the global data practice team to assist clients with their overall Data Analytics strategy and delivery program
  • Lead Business and Technical Discovery, Technical Assessments and Workshops, POC and MVP Build to ensure readiness for implementing data solution project/program
  • Relationship Management:
  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with clients' stakeholders and partners to maximize account/client portfolio growth

  • Develop effective relationships with key internal executives, BU heads, Account Managers, Solution SMEs, Sales, and Delivery Leaders
  • Understand the intersection between technology, customers, and business
  • Deliver clear and consistent communications within projects with relevant stakeholders

What You Have

  • 8 years or above experience in leadership roles as data technical consultant and/or data solution architect
  • Ability to clearly articulate the pros and cons of technology choices and solution design decisions and to construct and present rational options to clients
  • Good English and Japanese speaking is required to communicate with stakeholders in different location. Upper Intermediate (CEFR B2) or higher level of verbal and written English
  • Hands-on development experience in one of the following domains: data science, data software enginering, BI, Data Warehousing, Data Management, Data Storage, Data Visualization
  • Production data analytics delivery experience (preferably leveraging DataOps, DevOps and MLOps principles and practices.)
  • Good data experience/knowledge in at least one of the Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) or cloud platform (databricks.)
  • Experience in at least one of the following verticals: HC/LS, Financial Services, Automotive, Manufacturing
  • Extensive experience in Big 4 or MNC Consulting firm or industry related role is preferred but not mandatory
  • Desire to learn & expand your comfort zone whenever a new technological trend in Data & Analytics arises
  • A strong understanding of relevant technical solutions and architecture design trends and best practices
  • Experience of working with distributed delivery teams
  • Strong problem solving skills and creative thinking with gravitas
  • Sound business acumen; strategic skills; common sense
