THE CHALLENGE
After its carve out from Unilever, LIPTON Teas and Infusions needed to establish itself as a fully independent, data-driven enterprise. Critical business data was fragmented across multiple systems, functions and geographies, limiting visibility and slowing decision-making.
At the same time, the company wanted to accelerate digital transformation and leverage Data & AI across its value chain — from sourcing and manufacturing to sales and marketing. However, inconsistent data, siloed information and the lack of a unified data foundation made it difficult to scale Data & AI initiatives.
LIPTON needed to gain trusted, enterprise-wide access to data while maintaining business continuity and supporting future growth and innovation.
THE SOLUTION
To support its transformation into a data-driven organization, LIPTON partnered with EPAM to design and implement a modern enterprise Data & AI platform using Databricks and Microsoft technologies.
Beyond creating a single point of truth, the new platform was designed as a foundation for Data & AI-driven transformation. After the data solution was in place, the collaborative team of LIPTON, EPAM and Microsoft experts ran ideation workshops, building a Data & AI roadmap that was aligned to both LIPTON’s business priorities and Microsoft’s platform evolution. The combination of Microsoft’s enterprise Data & AI platform and EPAM’s engineering expertise gave LIPTON a reliable path from idea to production.
By building robust data engineering, governance and analytics capabilities, EPAM helped LIPTON gain the ability to rapidly develop and deploy Data & AI solutions across the entire value chain — increasing operational efficiency and delivering tangible business value.
The result was a future-ready data ecosystem that accelerated LIPTON’s post-carve out transformation, reduced time-to-insight and enabled the company to leverage Data & AI as a strategic business capability across the enterprise.

LIPTON’s Next Era of AI – Brewed to Scale
In two years, EPAM helped LIPTON build a Data & AI capability from scratch and establish Data & AI as a core, repeatable operating discipline. To date, the team has released seven AI solutions in production, with 14 in active delivery, and a prioritized backlog of 40+ initiatives across every major business function. This backlog is a governed pipeline, continuously replenished through joint discovery workshops between LIPTON, EPAM and Microsoft.
That distinction matters. The challenge in enterprise Data & AI is not building prototypes but getting them to production and keeping them there. Every initiative has been scoped against measurable value, delivered in short cycles and built for how the business actually runs. The result is an organization that has moved past experimentation into Data & AI operations.
Looking to the future, EPAM will continue partnering with LIPTON to scale Data & AI across the enterprise and drive its transformation forward. The next phase will include expanding agentic AI in both Source to Pay as well as Order to Cash, making steps towards building digital twins for its nine global factories, and accelerating delivery of the 40+ queued initiatives by leveraging its growing library of reusable templates. With the foundation built and the results proven, LIPTON is now positioned to pursue its goal of becoming one of the world’s most AI-driven CPG enterprises.
