A leading Dutch mail and eCommerce company, PostNL delivers millions of letters and packages across Europe daily. With rising customer expectations and increasing complexity in digital platforms, PostNL sought innovative solutions to optimize its software development lifecycle (SDLC), improve quality and accelerate delivery.

Leveraging Agentic AI to Improve the SDLC
It all started with data. As we sought to better understand how AI could optimize PostNL’s SDLC, EPAM first assessed the best way to gather necessary data. Very quickly, work that had typically taken more than a week was accomplished by AI in 40 minutes.
After a successful demonstration of AI’s capabilities, PostNL approved a proof of concept (POC) to implement AI-driven solutions across its SDLC. Using EPAM’s custom AI agentic platform, AI-powered agents were deployed to automate and optimize key stages of software development.
We built and deployed an SDLC improvement platform across multiple teams, integrating AI agents at each stage of the delivery process. What started as a POC with the mobile team quickly evolved into the deployment of over 20 types of AI agents now supporting multiple teams and business units across PostNL.
