We are fully committed to addressing climate change and have taken significant steps to achieve net zero emissions. As part of this journey, we have set both near-term emissions reduction targets and a long-term net zero target. These targets, which align with the latest climate science, have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are publicly accessible on their website:

• Overall Net-Zero Target: EPAM commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050.
• Near-Term Targets: EPAM commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2023 base year. EPAM also commits that 82% of its suppliers by spend covering purchased goods and services, capital goods and upstream transportation and distribution, will have science-based targets by 2029. EPAM further commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from business travel and employee commuting 25% by 2030 from a 2023 base year.

Reinforcing our global Net-Zero ambitions at a local level, EPAM Systems Ltd. has developed a UK Carbon Reduction Plan, setting out our emissions baseline, targets, and the steps we are taking to reduce our environmental impact in the UK.

We are committed to upholding environmental responsibility, focusing on the future. We acknowledge the importance of precisely monitoring our existing carbon emissions and resource consumption to facilitate a definitive reduction in our environmental footprint and implement impactful measures. We collect data throughout the year, which is then calculated and undergoes both internal and external audits to ensure accuracy. Once the figures are finalized and verified, we report them through the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) and EcoVadis platforms.

To uphold this commitment, we have developed and introduced our EPAM Emissions Digital Platform, which assists in setting and managing carbon reduction targets and simplifying the reporting process by systematizing the data collection procedures for different emission sources. Additionally, the platform offers holistic data visualization for better understanding and tracking.

We hold a strong dedication towards environmental stewardship, which extends to our choice of office spaces. Our goal is to rent offices that adhere to the most rigorous green-building standards. In doing so, our selection aligns with internationally respected rating standards such as the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), WELL Building Standard, and Energy Star.

Through managing eco-friendly office spaces, we play our part in diminishing energy use, preserving resources, and fostering healthier work environments for our workforce.

Electronic waste management is a priority for us. We follow responsible practices for the repurposing and recycling of end-of-life electronic items.

Our pledge to sustainability extends far beyond the managing of electronic waste - it influences every aspect of our work. Inside our offices, distinct waste collection containers symbolize our comprehensive approach to waste management. This efficient measure helps us classify and process different kinds of waste material, ensuring proper recycling and minimizing our environmental footprint.

But our efforts aren't confined to our office spaces. We are driven by the desire to create a broader positive impact. Therefore, we donate laptops to various NGOs spread over different regions. This act of giving not only prolongs the lifespan of these electronic devices but also furthers our overarching goal of backing education and facilitating technology access for communities in need.
