What do you love about working at EPAM?

The best thing about EPAM is the people who work here. EPAM hires smart people and it is a fantastic place to learn from industry leaders from various verticals, countries and technological backgrounds.

What sets EPAM apart from other companies?

EPAM has a culture of collaboration, teamwork and support. While you are expected to be able to work independently, asking for help is considered a positive thing and people help out readily. One of the truly unique things about EPAM is the number of systems and teams that are available to help out with most aspects of one’s job, e.g. putting together a team and different scenarios in executing a project.

What is one of the most interesting tasks/projects you’ve worked on at EPAM?

I’ve had to work on a variety of challenging tasks/projects during my short EPAM career but I want to highlight an experience that made me see the company in a very different light. About a month into my position, I had the pleasure of going through the initial IT Week, which is an opportunity for people from various offices to talk about topics of their interest. The sheer breadth and depth of this program is a testament to the amount of talent that exists at the company.

How has EPAM supported your professional development?

EPAM has been unique in that there is a fantastic mentorship program that was made available to me from day one. This is in addition to the support and mentorship I receive from my direct manager and team. This program allows me to run scenarios and other questions by my mentor, who is in a different business unit, and can offer a fresh perspective on such matters.

What advice would you give to people thinking about applying to work at EPAM?

EPAM is a unique company that is unlike other companies that may get identified as its competitors. Before making up your mind, I would recommend talking to an EPAM employee and also looking at some of the case studies of the type of work that we do at EPAM to try get a true feel for what working here is like.

What opportunities have you had at EPAM that you may not have had elsewhere?

At EPAM, I am able to learn almost any aspect of technology from either my colleagues or the many competency centers and internal training we have available. To name a few, I can learn about Machine Learning or Cloud Technologies or Big Data or Robotic Process Automation. There are endless resources and help for someone who would like to learn.

What’s the best thing about working at EPAM?

Working at EPAM is like working at a grown-up company, i.e. you are treated like an adult and given autonomy to chart your own career path and to make your own decisions. This, however, comes hand-in-hand with proper support and help when you ask for it, and a real work-life balance that allows you to focus on your career but not at the expense of your family life.

Is there anything else you’d like to say about your experience at EPAM?

One of the reasons I felt compelled to share my story is because EPAM is a well-kept secret. It is an incredible company that is very humble, and the story doesn’t always get told to outside people.
