Platform Engineer (Vector Databases, AWS, LLM) Description
We are looking for a skilled Platform Engineer with expertise in AWS, LLM and vector databases, including GIS, OpenSearch, Pinecone, Milvus or any other databases supporting vector search. In this role, you will join an established team managing internal LLM services. With a significant impact on the design, planning and implementation of technical solutions, you will also collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Software Engineers. What You’ll Do
- Support the setup and management of a vector database within a self-hosted LLM-based service
- Serve as a special liaison to our central IaaS teams
- Support the setup and administration of newly created AWS accounts
- Facilitate the operations of two teams in our business by managing LLM operations
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, explaining complex machine learning concepts clearly and concisely
What You Have
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Operations, Data Engineering or a related field
- Expertise in vector databases such as GIS or similar
- High proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines with Atlassian Bamboo and best practices in test automation
- Strong skills in AWS administration and permission management
- Experience in supporting infrastructure for hosting LLMs in production environments
- Competency in deploying AWS-supported vector databases for production use
- Qualifications in setting up compute, storage and service infrastructure
- English language level – B2 and higher
Nice to have
- Degree in computer science or a closely related discipline
- Proficiency in Python
- Willingness to learn from and contribute to an experienced team
